Being a Nanny isn't easy but has it's moments.
Being a Nanny isn't easy. Actually no job is easy. Little ones are little testers! Gosh! Do they want to see how much they can get away with. The three year old I take care of is a fake sleeper, likes to think he is in charge and its hard when his little sister wants to be just like him. It's stressing some days. Espescailally the days that the 3 year old likes to fake sleep and play through his nap. It makes the rest of the day not as enjoyable. Good moments happen too, like imaginary play, or when he helps in the kitchen, or placing the napkins and forks on the table for dinner. What I want to know is how I can get him to stop fake sleeping???

Vivi finally said my name.
From the first day I arrived in Hawaii to be a nanny Vivi the 1 1/2 year old would call me mame instead of Katie. She finally said my name on Thursday. I was really excited. How hard it it to say KK or Katie? If General, Vivi's 3 year old little brother, shouts my name she shouts it too. When I first heard the shouting I didn't think vivi was shouting my name. Best part of my Thursday.

Dole Pineapple Plantation!
If you ever come to Hawaii a place to see is Dole Pineapple Plantation. Dole Pineapple Plantaion as activies for all ages. You can go and ride on the Dole Express and learn how Dole plants and harvests their pineapples. Another fun thing you can do is walk through the Dole gardens and learn the history behind the plantation. After all the learning you can go in the eating court and get Pineapple Whip. If you go you have to try it! Dole Plantation is famous for their Dole Whip. The 9,8,3 and 2 year old loved walking the garden listening to the history though a little phone. We all had a great afternoon and I highly recommend going to Dole!
